As a reader of our blog, or a fan of our Facebook page, you are probably aware that Placer County has several museums. You probably also know that we have a bunch of event’s and school programs as well. There is a sizable group of people out there who don’t know any of these facts, and that’s who we’re trying to reach with our new pop-up exhibits. Our first one is in the main office at the Placer Herald office in Rocklin.
This exhibit consists of some photos of Willard A. Shepard, who ran the Herald from 1894 to 1944 as well as a brief history of him. The artifacts that go with this story are two of his chairs which were donated by his wife when he died.
In the near future we’ll also be installing exhibits in the County Administrative Center as well as the Community Development Resource Center in Tahoe City.
