Elmer Gum's Office

Last week was our annual deep clean of the Courthouse Sheriff’s Office. With help from several volunteers we were able to get the job done in no time. Michael Balaguy, a local gun enthusiast, volunteered his time to come and properly clean our collection of historical firearms. His in depth knowledge of old guns allowed us to expand the information we had about our collection of Sheriff Gum’s  firearms and weapons, all of which were seized in the line of duty.

Our volunteer Sarah Squires also lent a hand in cleaning, photographing, and documenting artifacts in the sheriff’s office.

The Sheriff's Office is located on the bottom floor of the Historic Courthouse in Auburn and is open for viewing daily from 10-4.
