Mr. Frank Oliver formerly of Auburn, and who now resides in Arizona, has recently sent original photos to our Placer County Archives and Research Center. We have scanned the photos into our system and returned them to Mr. Oliver.
Needless to say, we were thrilled! Most of the photos were taken of the 1948 Gold Rush Revival Parade.
The queen was Bev Nelson Albright who still resides in Auburn. She has a collection of photos and will be sharing hers with us in the near future.
Sherri Schackner, a volunteer at the archives is working on getting the names for various people in the photographs by talking with local residents of Auburn.
