Doug Ferrier recently brought in some outstanding donations from the Golden Drift Historical Society: two out of three journals kept by I.T. Coffin, and photographs of the Drum Powerhouse.
The large journal, picture above, was written in a partially used business ledger and filled with text and labeled photographs. Both were donated by Ralph and Dennis Jones of Sacramento.
Above is the photograph of Governor Stephen’s historic visit to the Drum Powerhouse in August 1919. The Governor, his aide, and John Britton (P.G.& E. Vice-President and General Manager) came down the 1000+' incline into the Powerhouse by tram. The others in the photograph were residents of Drum.
