Welcome to the Archives!

The Placer County Archives and Research Center is just what it sounds like, an invaluable resource for information on people, places, and events from Placer County over the past 150 years.

Mondays and Tuesdays from 9:30 to 3:00, volunteers like Sharon Balmain above,
are waiting to help you find whatever information you’re looking for. With over 3000 square feet of bookshelves containing street directories, newspapers, military records, naturalization records, deeds, letters, maps, various governmental records, and over 7000 old photographs, odds are they’ll be able to help you find what you need. In order to make sure our facility is top notch, we’re always on the lookout for new additions. If you have old photos we can scan, add to our collection, and insure for your family that they will be safe for future generations to see and use, we’d love to see them.

If you’d like to explore your family and local history, just call 889-7789 to make an appointment.
