The Harvest is in

Ron and Lynn Carasco have been busy. Not only are they docents at the Gold Country Museum and for the Living History Program, but they are our farmers at the Bernhard Museum Garden. They spent many hours this past spring and summer working with Museum Administrator Melanie Barton planting crops that reflect a typical German Family garden in late 19th century America. After many hot days, and an enormous amount of weeding, the fruits of their labor have paid off. The results have been beautiful to look at and delicious.

Ron and Lynn harvested tomatoes, strawberries, beans, melons and a hearty crop of potatoes. To the Museums Staff’s delight Ron and Lynn surprised everyone with a batch of gourmet potato salad. They also brought in some “mystery potatoes” that have been on display in the museum office due to their amusing shape and character.
