The couple in a faded photograph of a wedding long ago still shine with youthful vigor despite the photo’s age. Imagine the courtship that preceded the event. How did they meet? How soon after did they marry? Did she have other suitors? Each wedding, from your great-great grandparents to your own recent nuptials, has a unique, romantic story that lives inside each photograph. Become a part of our history by sharing your family’s wedding photographs and stories with the Placer County Museums. We need photographs of weddings that took place in Placer County from any era. To donate a copy, simply bring the original photograph to the Placer County Museums office on Friday, February 20th from 1:00 to 4:00 or on Saturday, February 21st from 10:00 to 4:00. We will scan the images immediately and return them to you on the spot. Your stories and photos, preserved together, will become part of our heritage.
The Placer County Museums office is in room 104 on the first floor of the historic Courthouse at 101 Maple Street in Auburn. Space in the exhibit is limited, so we can’t guarantee each photo will be used.
